Wendell H. Farragher, 85

BOARDMAN – Wendell H. Farragher, 85, passed away unexpectedly Dec. 11, 2012. Prayers will be at the Fox Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at St. Dominic’s Parish, 77 East Lucius Ave., Youngstown. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. He was born June 26, 1927, in Youngstown, the son of the late Thomas Francis and Katherine (Raub) Farragher. Wendell was a 1945 graduate of South High School and a U.S. Army veteran, stationed stateside in California from September of 1945 to December of 1946. He retired from Borden Dairy after 30 years and worked at Cochran’s Sparkle Market after retirement. Wendell was a member of St. Dominic’s Parish. He was a devout sports fan with a passion for Notre Dame and Cardinal Mooney H.S. football. He was a past member of the Struthers AC, and present fraternal member of the Saxon Club, where he was a past member of the Concordia Chorus for many years and served as captain of his bocce team. Wendell is survived by his wife, the former Rosemary Patterson, whom he married Feb. 3, 1951; his son, David Farragher of Boardman; his daughters, Nancy (Bob) Johnson of Mineral Ridge, Barbara (Barry) Good of Kent, and Jeanne (Edward) Martin of Massillon; his grandchildren, Jeffrey (Stephanie) Johnson, David Thomas (Erin) Farragher, Brandon (Desiree) Farragher, Gary Wadlow Jr., Ryan (Ashley) Wadlow, and Katie Wadlow; his little loves, the great-grandchildren, Haylee and Makenna Johnson, Adyson Farragher, Aidyn, Liam, and Camden Wadlow, and Landon Wadlow; and his sister, Marge Yash of Fort Myers, Fla. A son, Thomas Frank; his brothers, Robert Farragher, Fred Farragher, Edward Farragher, Frank Farragher, Paul Farragher, Firmin Farragher, and Earl Farragher; and his sister, Rita Farragher, preceded him in death. Family and friends may call at the Fox Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. His family would like any memorial donations to be made to St. Dominic Parish Center, 77 E. Lucius Ave., Youngstown 44507.
