Rose Marie Ridder, 94
YOUNGSTOWN - Rose Marie Ridder, 94, died peacefully early Sunday morning. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Phillip Rogers on Thursday, Dec. 20, at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Church in Boardman. Rose was born in Warren, on Aug. 12, 1918, to first generation immigrants, Carl and Mary Hingel. She received her high school diploma in 1936 from Warren G. Harding High School in the midst of the Great Depression. She married the late Roger Ridder in 1942 and lived most of her life in Boardman. Although she received no further formal education, she lived and learned from life with substance and zeal, bestowing that learning and wisdom upon her six children. Rose was an active member and Eucharistic Minister of St. Charles Catholic Church in Boardman. She was also an active volunteer for those less fortunate and in need, devoting her time to such organizations as Meals on Wheels and the Women and Infant Children¹s Program. She loved golfing with her many friends, and played in various leagues. She also participated in the St. Charles bowling league, as much for the sport as for the comradeship of those many friends. Rose also loved animals, especially cats, who were always loving companions to her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger and her eldest child, Brother Todd Ridder, S.M. She is survived by daughter, Kathleen Posey of Ft. Myers, Fla.; sons, Geoffrey Ridder of Evergreen, Colo., Patrick Ridder of Napa, Calif., Michael Ridder of Claremont, Calif., and Attorney Bryan Ridder of Canfield; and five grandchildren. There will be no calling hours. The family is requesting that donations be given to Angels for Animals, 4750 West South Range Road, Canfield, OH 44406. Arrangements have been made with the Fox Funeral Home.
