Dianna, TC, Mary Ruth, Peggy, Tricia, Marty, Tom, and Frankie - Your mom was like a grandma to me, she took me in as another kid (hey, what's one more!). I loved your mom dearly. She is at peace, no more pain and suffering, and she is with your dad and they are looking down on all of you. May time heal some of the pain, but please always remember the good times, the many family dinners, the trips to Lake Milton, all the graduations she attended, the weddings, the birth of her grand children and the ordination of Father John. She will be missed by everyone that knew her. I will miss coming to visit and her not being there. God bless you all!

I always enjoyed seeing Aunt Ruth (as I knew her) at all the Barger parties. A true family Matriarch. She was respected and loved by all who knew her. My deepest sympathy to all the Eich family. You were truly blessed.

Dear Children, Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and Relatives of Ruth Eich,

It is with great sadness that I have learned about Ruth’s passing. She has been an inspiration to me and to many others who have known her. Ruth Eich was a true lady in every sense of this world. She was always dressed to the T. Her honesty and integrity were visible signs of her impeccable character and the values that she held close and dear to her heart. She loved her Catholic faith, and she lived in accordance with her faith day I and day out.
I always enjoyed her smile and her sense of humor. We had a unique relationship. In a way, I always felt that she looked after me and was always making sure that I was happy in my priestly ministry. I think that Ruth understood more than anyone else what it means to be an immigrant and to start a new life in a different country far away from your family and friends.
She was the true matriarch of the family. Her wisdom came from her life experience, a life that sometimes was filled with challenges and difficulties. However, Ruth always had her eyes fixed on the things that were yet to come. She was always optimistic and uplifting. Even in the last years of her life, she kept on going taking one day at a time and trying to make the best out of it. She was always sending cards to her family members and friends. Somehow Ruth managed to remember all the birthdays, anniversaries and special moments in our lives. We will all miss her because for us it is a tremendous loss. But for Ruth, it is the beginning of a new life, a better life in the Kingdom of God where there is no more pain and no more suffering, no more trials and no more tribulations. Now she will be reunited with her husband Frank and with her loved ones who have died before her. For us who are left behind, we should follow her example and thank God for the reflection of Christ that Ruth was. Because of her, we are better people and better Christians. Through her life and love, we experienced unconditional love and support in our lives that made us better people. May the angels be her guide. May they lead her into paradise, her new and long-awaited home.

With all my love and prayers,

Fr. Matthew Mankowski
