Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman, officiated by Rev. John Keehner for A. Florence Brennen, 93 of Youngstown who passed away peacefully Tuesday evening with her family by her side.
Florence was born October 29, 1925 in Youngstown, a daughter of Paul and Susan Bodnar Kolesar. She was a 1943 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and had worked with her future husband at Republic Rubber. After working at Republic she worked in the lunch program at Bennett School.
Her husband Norman James Brennen, whom she married February 3, 1951 at St. Columba Cathedral, passed away in 2006. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children Sally (Gary) Philibin of Canfield, Norman J. (fiancée Rose Miller ) Brennen of Eastlake, Paula M. Brennen of Indianapolis, Indiana, Susan (Jeffrey) Boyd of Youngstown and Marybeth (Richard Woolford) Brennen of Poland, grandchildren Douglas (Jackie) Philibin, Elizabeth Woolford, Matthew Woolford, Olivia Boyd, Colin Boyd, Liam Boyd, Isabela Boyd, Sophia Boyd, Jessica (Chris) Elliott and Brandon Brennen, three great grandchildren Raegan Elliot; Riley Elliott and Mason Elliott and a sister in law Theresa Kolesar. Besides her parents and husband, Florence is preceded in death by brothers Paul Kolesar, John (Louise) Kolesar, Mary (John) Sabo, Sue (Joe) Petrek, Helen (Joe) Zigarevich and Beverly (Michael) Turkal.
