J. Edward McMurray

Boardman  – There will be a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Reverend Philip Rogers on Monday at 11 A.M. at St. Charles Borromeo Church for J. Edward McMurray who passed away Saturday morning June 20, 2018 after a courageous 6 month battle against Asbestosis.

Ed was born in New Springfield, OH on September 10, 1938 to Harry and Helen (Gorrell) McMurray. He graduated Springfield High School in 1956 and went on to work as a journeyman sheet metal worker for Roofing and Sheet Metal in downtown Youngstown. He retired in 1999 from Roth Brothers.

Ed was a loyal member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish and was active in the American Motorcycle Association and the Local #33 Sheet Metal 45.

Ed will be deeply missed by his family; his wife, Pat A. Gallaugher, whom he married on June 3, 1961; his two daughters, Kimberly (Bob) Conway of Aurora, OH, and Lori (Tom) Shutrump of Mason, OH; his grandchildren, Matthew and Corey Conway and Tim, Tom, John and Julia Shutrump; two great-grandsons, Wesley and Jack Conway; and his siblings, Joe McMurray of Thomasville, GA, June Casity of Poland, OH, and Jean Leonard of Columbiana, OH.

Besides his parents, Ed is preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Dale and Robert McMurray.

Family and friends may call at The Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market Street, on Sunday from 4 to 7 and again at St. Charles Church on Monday from 10 to 11 A.M.
