Rita DiLallo Obituary
Rita F. (Sanchy) DiLallo, 89, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2018 in Columbus,
Ohio. Rita was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was
born on July 5, 1928, in Youngstown, Ohio to Joseph Sanchy of Salamanca, Spain and
Carmel “Ann” (Speziale) Sanchy of Campobasso, Italy. Rita was a 1946 graduate of
East High School. She and her brother, Jerome “Jerry” Sanchy (deceased) were
professional ballroom dancers for the Billy Earhart dance company and performed at
the Palace Theater in Youngstown, among other regional venues. Rita’s first marriage
was to William “Bill” O’Hara who died shortly after their 1st anniversary. Rita is survived
by her devoted and loving husband of 65 years, Anthony “Tony” DiLallo, of Columbus,
OH, where they have resided (Brookdale Senior Living) for 4 years since leaving
Youngstown. She is also survived by her three children: Lynn Ann (Lawrence) Hackett
of Columbus, OH; Joseph (Kimberly Moore) DiLallo of Frisco, TX; and Diane (Jim)
Orzali of Cincinnati, OH. Rita adored her five grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren: Lawrence “LJ” (Kelley Windle) Hackett, their daughters, Jolee
and Catherine “Kitt”, of Columbus; Ross (Danielle Price) Hackett, their son, Leon, of
Denver, CO; and John, Anna, and Maria Orzali of Cincinnati. Rita’s family extend their
sincere gratitude to Hospice of Central Ohio for their extraordinary care of Rita and

her memory. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Christine Church in Youngstown on
Monday, February 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Calling hours at the church will begin at 10:00
