May 4, 1921 — Feb 12, 2012
Adam Conti, 90 BOARDMAN - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio officiating, preceded by a 9:15 a.m. prayer service held at the Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. in Boardman, for Adam Conti, 90, who entered into eternal life on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012. Adam was born May 4, 1921, in Youngstown, the youngest son of Rosario Conti and Giovanini Carano Conti. He was employed as an assembler at General Fireproofing for 43 years and he retired in 1983. Adam served with the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe and the United States. He was a member of the 555th Anti-Aircraft Battalion. He enjoyed attending yearly army reunions in various parts of the country to visit with lifelong friends. A very special event for Adam was when he was invited with his battalion to the White House in 2006 for a Veteran's Day breakfast with President and Mrs. Bush. Adam enjoyed traveling with his family, woodworking, playing guitar, gardening, dancing, bowling, golfing, listening to country music and making people laugh. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, and was so proud of each of his grandchildren. Adam is survived by his wife, the former Lucy Cimaglia, whom he married on Oct. 18, 1941. They were blessed to celebrate their 70th anniversary this past fall. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Youngstown. Adam leaves his two daughters, Saundra (Michael) Luchey and Debra (Kris) Whitmore. He also leaves four grandchildren, Lisa (James) Kutchel, Dr. Adam Luchey, Ross Whitmore and Marc Whitmore. Adam was preceded in death by three brothers, Steve, Ralph and Louis Conti and five sisters, Mary DePinto, Josephine Misciskia, Lena DePinto, Margaret West and Elvira Mayhorn. Adam always wanted to live his entire life in the home he built for his family. Through the devotion of his wonderful care givers he was granted that wish. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to his care givers, Elaine, Jen, Lori, Margie, Sandra and Shirley. Adam brought joy and a smile to everyone he met, and his sense of humor and kind spirit will be missed by all who knew him. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman.
