Alice A. Sanfrey, 76 POLAND - There will be a memorial Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Church celebrated by the Rev. Shawn Conoboy on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, for Alice A. Sanfrey, 76, who passed away Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at Mahoning Valley Hospital in Boardman. Alice was born Nov. 19, 1934, in Youngstown, a daughter of Christian and Mary Agnes Schaeffer Snyder and had been a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Ursuline High School with the Class of 1952, then received her nursing degree from Youngstown Hospital Association. She worked as a nurse at Southside Hospital, Park Vista Nursing Home and at Community Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo., while working there she received the Florence Nightingale Award. She is survived by her beloved husband of 33 years, Thomas A. Sanfrey, whom she married June 25, 1977. On Oct. 3, 2010, they had their marriage blessed. She leaves a daughter, Pamela (Robert Notary) Kavinsky of Canfield; a son, Thomas (Beth) Kavinsky of Chesapeake, Va.; two sisters, Mary Beth Holcomb and Caroline M. (Robert) Walker, both of Las Cruces, N.M.; a sister-in-law, Betty Sanfrey of Youngstown; a granddaughter, Kate Kavinsky; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Christian and wife, Shirley Snyder; a sister, Mary Beryl Snyder; two brothers-in-law, Jerry Sanfrey and Ted Holcomb; and a loving friend, Zita Dickson. The family wishes a special thanks to Mark and Sharon Walker, Lee, Janet, Zak and Zarek Bell, Karen and Robert Sanfrey, Pat and Tony Dascenzo; special great-nieces, Kayla Walker and Mary Ellen Sanfrey; and her special friends, Mary Corcoran of Grand Junction, and would like to thank the following doctors and their staff, Dr. Jeffery Resch, Dr. Bhatti of Hope Center, Celtic Health Care, the nurses and staff at Forum Health Northside Medical Center and Mahoning Valley Hospital. In lieu of flowers memorial tributes can be given in Alice's name to Cody Betts of Howland, to any Huntington Bank. Friends may call from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the church.
