BOARDMAN-Alice Mae Stran, 81 There will be a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Edward Noga at 1 p.m Thursday at St. Patrick Church for Alice Mae Stran, 81, who passed away Sunday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center. Alice was born February 23, 1932 in Youngstown, one of four daughters of Martin and Bridget Gorman Walsh and has resided in the Youngstown area her entire life. She graduated from The Rayen School and worked as a telephone operator for Ohio Bell, Youngstown Sheet and Tube and South Side Hospital. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association, and enjoyed playing bridge and 500 Rummy with her girl friends. she will be sadly missed by her son Jim (Maureen) Stran of Youngstown; her daughter Janis (Jeff) Syphard of Canfield; her sister Lennie (Bob) Schmalzried of Girard; her five grandchildren, David, Emily and John Stran, Michael Syphard, Amber (Brad) Allen; and two great grandchildren Hunter and Jacob Allen . Besides her parents Alice was preceded in death by her two sisters Mary Kay (Wayne) Rauschenberg and Sally(Chuck) Deemer.
