Funeral services will be held at 10 am. on Friday at the Fox Funeral Home for Alverda "Berty" Kathleen Duchek 63, who passed away Sunday afternoon at Forum Health North Side Medical Center in Youngstown.

Alverda was born July 14, 1949, in Alverton, Pa., one of 18 children of James and Helen Ruth Grimm Roadman.

She was a homemaker and has been an area resident since 1964. She loved doing crafts, puzzles and working with plants. She enjoyed bowling and traveling to Disney World, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Robin (Rocky) Ritchie of Youngstown and Jerri Rupert (David Thompson) of Ligonier, Pa., five grandchildren Charlie Jr., Denise, Rocky Jr., Kathleen and Billy; three great-grandchildren, Charles III, Shelby and Sarah; three brothers, Danny, Bob and Buzzy Roadman; five sisters, Ina Bentz, Shirley Chambers, Eva Duchek, Suzie Bezeridge and Cindy Hatfield; and lifelong friend Catherine LaForce.

Besides her parents Alverda was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. Boardman.
