Obituary

Alyse J. Chahine of Boardman passed away early Saturday morning at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center with her family by her side. Born in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania on July 5, 1930, Alyse was the daughter of Abraham and Emily Sam. She attended high school and college in New York City, and then moved with her mother and sister to Beirut, Lebanon. There she met and married her husband, Joseph H. Chahine on February 5, 1956. They returned to the United States, and settled in Youngstown Ohio in 1958. Alyse leaves her husband, five children: JoAnn Healey (Chris) of Canfield, Linda Chahine of Cleveland, John Chahine (Elizabeth) of Boardman, Yvonne Chahine Farman (Ivan) of New York City, Michelle Chahine of Canfield, seven grandchildren, her sister Edna Chahine (Jeffrey) of Boardman, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Fred Sam. Alyse was a member of St. Maron Church and it's St. Tobias Society. Calling hours will be held at St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian Road, on Monday evening from 4 to 7, followed by a prayer service. Additional calling hours will be on Tuesday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church, prior to the 10:00 a.m. funeral service.
