Angelo H. Prezioso,91 Angelo H. Prezioso entered Heavens gates at 2:40 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2008 at North Side Medical Center after a 7 week illness. He was a very kind, loving and generous man who was loved by all he met. He will be truly missed. Mr. Prezioso was born on October 24, 1916, in Youngstown, the only child of Raffaele Prezioso, who was born in Bagnoli, Irpino, Italy and deceased in May of 1947 and Theresa Infante Prezioso, who was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, South America and deceased in March of 1993. Angelo graduated from The Rayen School in 1935. He attended YSU and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, June 9, 1939. He attended graduate school at Miami University, Oxford, OH and graduate with a Masters of Chemistry on August 13, 1967. He was a member and served as treasurer of Phi Epsilon Science Fraternity, which had an active part in educating its members in the field of sciences. Angelo was employed by the Ravenna Arsenal from 1941 to 1942 and from 1947 to 1957 in the control lab. He proudly served in the United States Navy Reserve in the Pacific Theater on the LST 698, from 1943 to 1946. During World War II he achieved the rank of lieutenant senior grade chief engineering officer and received award ribbons for excellent services. He sorted mail at the Youngstown Post Office from 1958 to 1972. He taught high school chemistry, physics and science at Springfield Local High School in 1957 and Austintown Fitch High School. Later took on a teaching position at McDonald High School and retired in 1978. Angelo loved teaching so much that he continued in the workforce by substituting at Austintown Fitch High School, Liberty High School, Campbell Memorial High School and the Christian Assembly in Youngstown. He retired again in 1996 at the age of 80. He volunteered at Moderelli Meats, making Italian Sausage from 1990 to 2002. He smoked and dried sausage that he called "black gold" which Angelo and his family really enjoyed. Angelo worked hard at everything he did. He grew picture perfect vegetables with more than one cornstalk growing to 15 feet. His love of flowers produced the most beautiful rose garden. He could start a flower by a cutting and truly had a green thumb. He and his daughter planted hundreds of tulip bulbs. He loved Mill Creek Park and played golf at the Mill Creek golf course with his team, "The Skins". He made a hole-in-one at 85 years young in 2001. He also loved helping his daughter and son-in-law build their home where he also lived. Angelo is survived by his wife, Grace DePascale Prezioso, whom he married on July 6, 1950, and his only child, Terri (John) Prestas of Canfield. Mr. Prezioso was a member of Saint Patrick Church in Youngtown. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Saint Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown, OH, with Father Edward P. Noga officiating. Final resting place will be at Tod Homestead Cemetery, 2200 Belmont Ave. Youngstown, OH, where there will be a military honors service.
