ANN M. MORAN, 96 YOUNGSTOWN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Dominic Church for Ann M. Moran, who died Monday afternoon at Meridian Arms Living Center. She was born in Youngstown, Nov. 20, 1910, to Michael J. and Angela Scandy Moran. Miss Moran spent her girlhood on the East Side, where her family owned and operated the Lincoln Theatre, showing movies in the silent film era. She was a devout Catholic, and a member of St. Dominic and St. Christine Churches. Miss Moran dedicated her life to caring for her family, nursing both her parents, and babysitting her five nieces, to whom she was a second mother, and their beloved "Auntie Ann." She enjoyed traveling, visiting with friends, cooking and card games. She was a charter member of the St. Dominic Senior Citizens, and a member of the Cenacle prayer group. She leaves her sister-in-law, Mary Louise (Gabriel) Gagen Moran; her nieces, Cecily (Karl) Roach and Patricia (Hugh) Fagan, both of Youngstown, Catherine Moran and her companion Robert Campbell of Chicago, Karen(Kevin) Freaney of Canfield and Mary Elizabeth(Thomas) Kennedy of Hinsdale, Illinois; several grand nieces and grand nephews, Elizabeth Roach, Bridget Weizer and her fiance, Richard Granger, Katrina Weizer, who was at her side at her passing, Patrick Roach, Kevin Freaney Jr., Jonathan Freaney, Michael Kennedy and Claire Kennedy; a special friend, Henry Stinner; and her "second family,"the staff and fellow residents of Meridian Arms, who surrounded her with their loving care and support for four years. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Albert Wells; her brother and sister-in-law, John and Marian Conroy Moran; her brother Gabriel; a sister, Marietta, who died in infancy; and her niece's husband Hugh B. Fagan. Friends may call at the church Thursday at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Miss Moran's memory be made to the Meridian Arms Living Center Activity Fund.
