Anthony J. Popio Jr., 90 BOARDMAN - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon on Friday at Christ Our Savior Parish in Struthers, celebrated by the Rev. Bernard Bonnot for Anthony J. Popio Jr., 90, who passed away Sunday afternoon at Beeghly Oaks. Anthony was born August 21, 1924, in Youngstown, a son of Anthony and Clementine Petrarca Popio and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Chaney High School and Ohio State University. Anthony was a salesman and regional manager for Playtex & Gay Gibson Company and was a Real Estate Broker. He was a veteran who served on the USS Ticonderoga with the United States Navy. Anthony was a musician and had his pilot's license. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Kathryn Tomesko who he married on March 4, 1995; his son Loren (Kathy) Popio of Canfield; his daughter Lynan Popio also of Canfield; his step-daughter Julie (Kenneth) Schaefer of Poland; seven grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Anthony was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Weiner Popio and a son, Anthony J. Popio III. Friends may call form 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday with a memorial service at 7 p.m. at Fox Funeral Home.
