Anthony M. "Tony" Santangelo Sr., 68 POLAND - Prayers will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by the Rev. Stephen Popovich at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Church in Youngstown, for Anthony M. "Tony" Santangelo Sr., 68, who passed away Friday evening. Tony was born Nov. 8, 1942, in Youngstown, a son of Enrico and Lucille Bennett Santangelo. He was a 1961 graduate of South High School. Tony's career started at Youngstown Sheet & Tube, Brier Hill Works, and he then transferred to Aliquippa. In 1986, he went to General Motors, Lordstown Complex, starting at the car plant and transferring to the stamping plant. He was a member of St. Patrick Church. Tony enjoyed gardening, the outdoors and stamp collecting. He was a American car enthusiast and enjoyed fixing things for people. His greatest love in life was his children and grandchildren. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, the former Olympia Theresa Fagnano, whom he married Oct. 26, 1968; three children, Anthony Michael (Carla) Santangelo Jr. of Boardman, Phyllis Ann Santangelo-Lucente of Poland and Michael Nicholas Santangelo of Boardman; a brother, Perry (Jean) Santangelo of New Middletown; two sisters, Rose Marie Santangelo of Naples, Fla., and Kathleen Sarenana of California; and five grandchildren, Marlania, Francesca, Andrea, Sammy and Lola.
