BOARDMAN- Anthony R. Tarr,84 There will be a funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fox Funeral Home, for Anthony R. Tarr, 84 of Boardman, who passed away Thursday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Medical center in Boardman. "Tony" was born June 26,1931 in Youngstown, a son of Anthony and Marie Sobolewski Tarr and was a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and served his country with the United States Navy. Tony worked at Youngstown Sheet & Tube, was an Insurance agent for Western & Southern and was owner and operator of Independant Cab Company. In his early years, Tony enjoyed racing cars, liked the Internet CafAC. gaming, visiting friends at the VFW, watching "Wheel of Fortune" every night and loved listening to Frank Sinatra and the music of his era. His wife Marilyn Scali whom he married on July 6, 1956 died on July 21st of last year after 59 years of marriage. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Kathy Thompson of Boardman; a son Anthony P. Tarr of Youngstown ; Kathy's life time partner Stephanie Hodos of Boardman; two brothers, Jack (Phyllis) Tarr of St. Augustine, FL, Robert(Patricia) Tarr of Humble, TX; three sisters, Nancy DeWitt of Campbell, Helen Kocur and Carol Silverman both of Jacksonville, FL; five grandchildren, Nichole Tarr, Jamie Tarr, Anthony Tarr Jr., Kati Tarr, Mary "Lainey" Tarr; 5 great-grandchildren, Isabella, Marisa, Jayden, Luka, Ella Mae and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife Marilyn, Anthony was preceded in death by his infant twin sons, John and Kenneth Tarr; his son Bobby Tarr; his sister, Florence Texter; brother-in-law, Chester DeWitt; sister-in-law, June Zordich Bertilacci. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. in Boardman.
