Arlene M. Barry, 79 YOUNGSTOWN - Services will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman for Arlene M. Barry, 79, who died Tuesday morning at the Hospice House in Poland. Arlene was born July 23, 1935, in Sagamore, Pa., the daughter of Edwin and Gwendlyn Eckman Higgins, and had been a resident of Youngstown since the 50s. Arlene was a high school graduate, and worked at G.C. Murphy as a Sales Clerk. She was a house wife and enjoyed bowling, was on several different bowling leagues over the years, also enjoyed gardening and word search puzzles, but mostly, loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her three daughters, Andrea (Stephen) Kowalski and Sharon (David) Sullivan, both of Canfield and Ashlynne (Joseph) Frush of Youngstown; five grandchildren, James Barry, Robert Kowalski, Jessica Sobinovsky, William Barry and Brandon Frush; and his three great-grandchildren, Cory, Skylar and Evander. Besides her parents, Arelene was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Barry Jr., whom she married June 24, 1959, in Youngstown. William passed away Oct. 3, 2011, and she also was precede by her brother, Sunny Higgins. Arlene's family would like to thank the CNC Canfield Dialysis Center Staff for their wonderful care of their mother.
