Barbara J
Miller
May 5, 1933 — May 17, 2016
Barbara Miller would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a visit from God for communion, the sort of an offer you can't refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge reunion party with many family and friends she has not seen in a long time. It is sure to be the kind of party many of us wish we were attending as well. Prayers will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the Fox Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Christine Church, with the Rev. John Edward Keehner officiating for Barbara Jeanette Miller, who passed away Tuesday morning, May 17, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. Barbara was born May 5, 1933 in Youngstown, a daughter of Sam H. and Florence Rochford Miller. She grew up in Youngstown and was a 1950 graduate of Boardman High School. Barbara graduated from Youngstown State University in 1957 earning her Bachelor's degree in Accounting and was inducted into the Alpha Tau Gamma honorary accounting fraternity as one of its first female honorees. Barbara had a long career in accounting and held various executive posts including Corporate Secretary at the Central Tower Inc., Mercer Gas & Water as well as W.A. Cross Drug Company. Barbara enjoyed fishing, boating, travelling, was an avid sports and dog show enthusiast, and enjoyed time with her grandchildren. She also served as an officer for the Garden Forum of the Greater Youngstown Area. She is loved and missed by her 4 children: Deborah J. Tindall-Ryan (Paul), Jay D. Tindall (Patricia), Stephen Guerin (Alison), and Maria D'Amato Lamb (Philip), and 13 grandchildren: Annie and Katie Ryan, Christopher Tindall, Reed and Miles Guerin, and Juliana, Grace, Lauren, Joseph, Gemma, John, Peter, and Gabriella Lamb. She also leaves her devoted dog, Kristi. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers William R. Miller and Sam H. Miller. Friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Fox Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Christine Catholic Church, 3165 South Schenley Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio 44511
