Benjamin Fusco Jr., 87 BOARDMAN- Funeral services will be at 11 a.m.Tuesday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman, officiated by the Rev. Peter Del Nagro, for Benjamin Fusco Jr., 87, who passed away Saturday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Centerwith his children at his side. Ben was born December17, 1925, in Youngstown, a son of Benjamin and Mary Pivar Fusco Sr. and has been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of South High School and served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. Ben worked as a delivery driver for the Borden Dairy Company for many years. He belonged to the VFW and was a member and one of the elders of the Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed doing yard work, gardening and wood working but most of all he loved to socialize with his friends from the neighborhood. His wife the former Etta Mary Hatmaker whom he married Oct. 18, 1947, died on January 25, 2012 after 64 years of marriage. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Karen L (Stephen) Altier of Youngstown; a son, Terrence (Jackie) Fusco of Boardman; a son-in-law, Jim Slavin; two sisters, Angeline Johnson of Youngstown, Thelma Terrigno of California; six grandchildren, Gregory Short, Michael Short, Louis Cimmento, Gino Cimmento, Danielle Cimmento Burkey and Benjamin Fusco; six step grandchildren, Robert Lane, Keith Lane, Billie Jo Shumacher, Angela Altier, Stephen Altier and Patrick Altier; and 21 great-grandchildren. Besides his wife and parents Ben was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Slavin; a son, Lawrence Fusco; a brother Robert Fusco and a grandson, Terrence Fusco.
