A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Bernerd Timothy, O.P. at 10:30 Thursday at St. Dominic Church in Youngstown , for Carmen J. Amadio, Sr., 89 of Boardman and Sarasota Florida, who passed away peacefully Saturday morning. Carmen was born July 16, 1927 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, a son of Amadio and Clementine Campana Amadio. He was a 1946 graduate of New Castle High School and owned and operated with his wife Josephine a hot dog shop in Boardman. After owning the hot dog shop, Carmen operated Tesone's Boot and Shoe Repair Shop which was his father in laws business, retiring in 1988. Carmen belonged to St. Dominic Church, the Wolves Club, Latin Culture and the American Legion Post 400 in Sarasota, Florida. He served in the Army, 1st Division, 425 Army Band, where obtained the rank of Quatermaster, and was stationed in Graffenberg, Germany after the war. His first wife, the former Josephine Amerina, whom he married Jan 6, 1951, passed away April 28, 1993. Besides ,his second wife the former Helaina Binford, whom he married Feb 14, 1999, he leaves to cherish his memory , his daughters Rosemarie (Carl) Vimmerstedt of Boardman, Carol (David) Pantelis of Vienna and Michelle (Brian Huda) Amadio of Youngstown, a son Carmen (Becky) Amadio, Jr. of Boardman, seven grandchildren Cristin (Michael) Balale, Carl (Lubna) Vimmerstedt, Jr., Elizabeth (Michael) Bustamante, Kathryn (Nicholas) Asimakopoulos, Joseph Amadio, Nicole Pantelis and Cassandra Pantelis, six great grandchildren Angelina Balale, Michael Balale, Maya Vimmerstedt, Brayden Asimakopoulos, Noah Asimakopoulos and Gracie Bustamante. Step children Renae Ross, Aaron (Patty) Ross and Kelly (Chris) Shirer, twelve step grandchildren Brodie (Shawna) MacLean, Leslie MacLean, Jared (Kate) MacLean, Rachel (Heath) Hermes, Shannon Ross, Laramie Ross, Mikala Ross, Joshua Ross, Abby (Nathan) Foltz, Bain Henson, Haley Redding and Micah Redding, and five step great grandchildren Treya, Draven, Lana, Isla and Brady. Besides his first wife Josephine, Carmen is preceded in death by sisters Mary Panella, Cora Martuccio, Frances Rubies, Sophie Giancola, Elizabeth Gitterman and Rose Walker and a brother Peter Amadio. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10: 30 Thursday at St. Dominic Church. Arrangements are by the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman
