Obituary

Carolyn Fuellhart Lisi, 87, of Canfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on April 17, 1939, in Neath, Wales, Carolyn lived a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, faith, and adventure. At just 20 years old, she made the courageous journey to the United States as an au pair, arriving with little more than a suitcase and a spirit ready to embrace all that life had to offer.

Carolyn had a remarkable way of making the world around her a little brighter. She was known for her contagious laugh, quick wit, and wonderfully unfiltered sense of humor. With Carolyn, you never quite knew what she might say next, but you could almost always count on a good laugh. Perhaps even more unforgettable were her striking, twinkling blue eyes, which seemed to light up whenever she was surrounded by the people she loved. Her joyful spirit, warm presence, and ability to find humor in life’s everyday moments made her truly one of a kind.

A woman of strong faith and a loving heart, Carolyn was a devoted member of Bethel Friends Church for over 50 years. Her church family held a special place in her heart, and she treasured the friendships and connections she made throughout her life. She never met a stranger and had a gift for making others feel welcome.

Carolyn embraced life with enthusiasm and rarely turned down an opportunity for a new adventure. Whether it was a girls’ trip, a shopping excursion, a concert, a show, or simply spending time with family and friends, she loved being on the go. Even in her later years, she could often be spotted riding her bicycle around Canfield, enjoying the simple pleasures of life. She had a love for fashion, a lively personality, and a youthful spirit that stayed with her throughout the years.

Carolyn dedicated more than 20 years of her career to Mahoning County Jobs and Family Services. She adored the friendships she made throughout the years and held each of them close to her heart. Above all, she cherished the family she raised and the many wonderful memories they shared.

She is survived by her brothers, Richard (Lynne) Egan of Wales and Andrew Egan of England; her children, Sean (Nicole) Fuellhart of Red House, West Virginia, Bob Fuellhart of Seattle, Washington, Erica Petroff (Tom Mead) of Columbus, Ohio, and David Fuellhart; and her beloved grandsons, Evan (Bella) Fuellhart, Ryan Fuellhart, Chase Petroff, and Christian Petroff.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Ida Egan, and her beloved husband, Frank Lisi. Carolyn raised her family with John Fuellhart in Boardman, Ohio, before later settling in Canfield.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers, Lori Albitar and Will Martin, for the kindness, compassion, and loving care they provided during her final years at home.

Carolyn’s life was a beautiful reminder to laugh often, love deeply, hold tight to your faith, and never pass up an opportunity to make a memory. Though she will be dearly missed, her family and friends will forever carry the sound of her laughter, the sparkle of those unforgettable blue eyes, and the warmth of her love in their hearts.

May she rest peacefully, surrounded by the same love and joy she brought to so many throughout her life.
