Charles "
Chuck" William Dahman
Aug 14, 1945 — Nov 25, 2025
Charles "Chuck" William Dahman, age 80, passed away on November 25, 2025, in Boardman, Ohio. Born on August 14, 1945, in Youngstown, Ohio, Chuck lived a life marked by dedication to his family, service to his country, and an enduring passion for the outdoors and all things mechanical.
Chuck proudly served in the United States Army as a Specialist 4th Class. His military service took him to Japan and Korea, where he carried out his duties with honor and commitment. After completing his service, he returned home and began a long career as an auto worker with General Motors. Known for his exceptional skill with engines and machinery, Chuck had a rare talent for fixing just about anything, especially cars.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years; Peg Dahman; his mother Edith Sackella Kutlick; and his father Bill Dahman. He is survived by his daughter Michelle Lovitz (Bill Lovitz), son Christopher Dahman and three grandchildren Alexis Lovitz, William Lovitz, and Breen Dahman.
Chuck was a man of great generosity who was always willing to lend a hand—especially when it came to helping his family or spending time with his grandchildren. Whether it was summer boating trips with Peg and the family or winter afternoons spent sledding, ice skating, or building igloo forts with the grandkids, Chuck embraced every season with enthusiasm. He loved dogs and had a deep appreciation for nature that kept him outdoors no matter the weather.
Chuck was an avid fan of Youngstown State University football, Notre Dame football, the Cleveland Browns, Youngstown Phantoms hockey and the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey
Chuck delighted in enjoying Peg's gourmet meals and had a ravenous appetite, especially for sweets, he was always willing to be a taste tester for his granddaughter's baked goods. After retiring from General Motors, he remained active traveling with Peg to support their grandsons at hockey tournaments and games across the region. He also spent summers working alongside a close family friend, Ronny, doing roofing and remodeling projects.
Above all else, Chuck cherished time spent with his three grandchildren. His sense of humor, boundless energy, and love for life left lasting memories for those fortunate enough to know him.
May the memory of Charles "Chuck" William Dahman bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.
