CHARLES EDWARD 'ED' WILSON | YOUNGSTOWN - A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, for Charles Edward "Ed" Wilson, 79, who died peacefully the morning of Nov. 2, 2013, after battling a series of serious medical conditions. Ed was a 1952 graduate of South High School. After serving in the U.S. Army Military Police during the Korean War era, Ed returned home to Youngstown for a long career in finance, banking, and multiple aspects of the automotive industry. His lifelong passion, aside from his family, was for antique automobiles. For decades, Ed's warm presence loomed large among the local scene of car clubs, cruise-ins, and swap meets. His kind heart, pleasant disposition and sense of humor will be missed by so many. Surviving is his devoted wife of 53 years, Cathy (Murphy); daughters Karen (Greg) Jacobs of Dayton and Linda (Bryan) DeRemer of Charleston, S.C.; son Kevin (Amy) Wilson of Louisville; nine grandchildren Nicholas, Michael, Lauren, Brian, Brett, Eric, Nicole, Hannah, and Levi; three great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a long list of close friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Severson; stepfather Cliff Severson; father Lloyd Wilson; and brothers Phil and Tommy Severson. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at Vista Care Center of Boardman for their care of Ed during his recent illness. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Fox Funeral Home on Market Street
