Charles C. Sovick, Sr., 96 COLUMBIANA - Charles C. Sovick Sr., 96, passed away Monday afternoon with his family by his side. Charles was born Jan. 14, 1916, in Youngstown, a son of Frank and Mary Zetaler Sovick. Charles went to work at Ohio Chair, and retired from General Motors Lordstown. He was a member of St. Maron Church, U.A.W. Local 1112 and 1714 Retirees, Steelworkers Local No. 1418, V.F.W. Post 3538, Wedgewood Seniors Men's Bowling League and Mill Creek Senior Men's Golf League. Charles was a Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Army 488 Battalion. His wife, the former Sadie Abraham, whom he married April 26, 1941, passed away Jan 30, 2001. He leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Marianne (Bob) Tyger of Columbiana; a son, Charles (Sharon) Sovick Jr. of Columbia, S.C.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Moses; and a brother, Frank Sovick. There are no calling hours or funeral services.
