Darlene M. DeGenaro, 56 YOUNGSTOWN - There will be prayers at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Fox Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Matthais Church in Youngstown, Celebrated by Msgr. Peter Polando for Darlene M. DeGenaro, 56, who passed away Tuesday afternoon, surrounded by her loving family at the Hospice House. Darlene was born Jan. 6, 1954, in Youngstown, the daughter of David F and Lois Paden Jackson. Darlene attended East High School and has been a lifelong area resident. Darlene was a home maker who enjoyed camping and traveling but most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Steve M. DeGenaro, whom she married June 1, 1974; a son, Steve (Karen) DeGenaro of Boardman; a daughter, Nicole DeGenaro of Youngstown, her mother, Lois Jackson and mother-in-law Vera DeGenero, both of Youngstown; three brothers, David Jackson of Poland, Gary Jackson of Campbell, Jeff Jackson of Youngstown; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, David F. Jackson; her father-in-law, Steve J. DeGenaro; and a grandson, Stephen D. DeGenaro Jr. The family wishes to thank Dr. Chris Knight and all the nurses and staff at the Hope Center for Cancer Care and the staff at the Hospice House for the love and tender care they showed to Darlene.
