A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday May 4, 2018 at 1 p.m. at St. Lucy's Catholic Church in Campbell for David William Cuva, 72, who passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon April 29, 2018.
David was born on September 18, 1945 in Campbell, a son of Joseph and Anna Tovarnak Cuva. He attended Youngstown State University for three years before being drafted into the U.S. Army in 1967. He was an Army combat medic while serving in Vietnam, and he received the Purple Heart and the Medal of Valor. He worked at GM Lordstown for 41 years in the Fabrication Plant. David enjoyed his home working inside and outside. He went to car shows, loved to travel and liked going to Jimmy Buffet concerts. David loved spending time with his family and friends, especially at doings and the holidays.
He also was a member of St. Lucy's Church in Campbell.
He leaves to cherish his memory brothers Rocco (Carol) Cuva of Jupiter, FL, Joseph (Elaine) Cuva of Campbell and Mark (Mary Lou) Cuva of Tallmadge; nieces Laura Cuva, Kim Woodal, Joanna Van and Rebecca Chenos; and nephews Rocco Cuva Jr., Billy Cuva, Mark Cuva Jr., and Matthew Cuva; several nieces and nephews and one great-great niece, and his companion and caregiver Kenneth Passella.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece Kelly Cuva.
The Family of David Cuva would like to thank the staff, especially the nurses, aids and kitchen, of Windsor House Canfield for the excellent care they provided David and his family and friends.
Friends may call from 12 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the church.
