Obituary

Dr. Dean J. Limbert, 79 BOARDMAN - Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Church in Boardman for Dr. Dean J. Limbert, 79, who passed away Thursday evening. Dr. Limbert was born March 23, 1936, in Youngstown, a son of the late Mitcho and Maro Kourempis Limbert. He was a 1953 graduate of Boardman High School, a 1957 graduate of Johns Hopkins University, and a 1961 graduate of the Northwestern School of Medicine. He entered a urology residency at Philadelphia General Hospital and completed it at Youngstown Hospital Association. Dr. Limbert served in the U.S. Navy at Camp Pendelton during the Vietnam War. Following the residency and service to our country, Dr. Limbert had a brilliant career in Urology in Youngstown and Charleston, S.C. Dr. Limbert was a superb teacher to medical students at NEO Med. He was highly respected by his colleagues and patients. Dr. Limbert was an unusually intelligent man with a strong work ethic and an abiding love of learning. An avid reader, he had a passion for studying French, and was a member of several French Clubs. Dr. Limbert was an active member of the Boardman Rotary, Mahoning County and State Medical Societies and St. John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Church, where he served on the parish council and taught Sunday school. He loved to travel and just returned from a 16-day cruise of Europe and Asia with his brother, Nick. Dr. Limbert will be greatly missed by his family and all of the people who had the good fortune to know him. He leaves to cherish his memory three sons, James (Jenifer) Limbert of Columbus, Thomas (Eve) Limbert of Alameda, Calif., and Nikita Limberopoulos of Pittsburgh; a grandson, Leo Limbert of California; two brothers, Dr. Nick J. (Harriet) Limbert of Akron and Judge George J. (Pamela) Limbert of Boardman; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Church in Boardman. Material tributes can be made in his memory to the church endowment fund, 4955 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, OH 44512.
