Dolores M. Thornton, 97 NORTH LIMA - Prayers will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by the Rev. Bernard Gaeta at 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Church, Struthers for Dolores M. Thornton, 97, who passed away Monday afternoon. Dolores was born Sept. 22, 1913, in Youngstown, a daughter of Oscar and Bertha Helbling Gratz. She worked at General Fireproofing during World War II and was a bartender at the Cactus Bar for 20 years, retiring in 1974. Dolores was a member of St. Nicholas Church. Her husband, Raymond, whom she married Aug. 29, 1935, passed away Oct. 4, 1999. She leaves to cherish her memory, a brother, Leo Gratz of Struthers; two sisters, Rita Rozum of Euclid and Bertha Amendol of Austintown; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Thelma Thornton, Anna Schmitt and Dorothy Malone. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman.
