Donald Raymond Parks, 85 BOARDMAN - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., Saturday, at St. Charles Church, celebrated by Father Gerald DeLucia for Donald Raymond Parks, 85, who passed away Wednesday morning at Washington Square Healthcare Center. Donald was born Feb. 28, 1930, in Youngstown, a son of Harry M. and Isabell McGonnell Parks, and was a lifelong area resident. He attended South High School and served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was stationed in Japan and was proud of climbing Mount Fuji. Donald worked for Sheet & Tube until retiring in 1977. He was a true gentleman who loved all sports, caring for animals, and walking everywhere he went, but most of all spending time with his family. He is survived by three sisters-in-law, Algia Parks of Liberty, Gundy Parks of Youngstown and Betty Davis of California; his special care givers, Colleen (Cyril) De Chant and their daughters, Danielle (John) DeChant-Sharlock and Jacqueline DeChant, all of Girard; and several other nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his four brothers, James Parks, Harry Parks, George Parks, and Robert Parks; and two sisters, Joan T. Parks and Isabel Parks. His family would like to thank the staff at Washington Square Healthcare Center and Harbor Light Hospice for the loving care they extended to Donald. Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Charles Church, prior to the service.
