Donald J.
Restle
Apr 19, 1919 — Aug 28, 2010
Boardman- Donald J. Restle, 91 Prayers will be 10:30 a.m.Friday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Shawn Conaboy at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Church, Boardman for Donald J. Restle, 91 of Boardman who passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman. Don was born April 19, 1919 in Youngstown, a son of Emil & Nellie Newell Restle. On July 25, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio, Don married Leslie G. Fish, who passed away on April 30, 2008. He was a member of St. Charles Church since 1956 and a member of Teamsters Local #416. Don was affectionately known as the "Jukebox Man" by the many friends he made while working for more than 30 years for Acme Music. Changing records on juke boxes and servicing equipment throughout the area resulted in his lifelong hobby of coin collecting. Our Dad shared his passion for gardening by giving cuttings on home grown seedlings of his favorite plants to anyone who showed an interest. For more than 70 years Dad captured the highlights of our family lives through his love of photography. He also obtained a patent for 3-D mounted photographs. Dad enjoyed performing magic tricks, making homemade spaghetti sauce and meatballs on Sundays, watching silent movies, Judge Judy, the Price is Right, and Glen Beck. Dad inspired his children and grandchildren to pursue their interests in coin collecting, photography and gardening. Don leaves his four daughters; Madonna Lee (Paul) Holko of Acworth, GA., Louise Naples of Manteca, CA., Suzanne (William "Buddy") Schreiber of Minnesota, Jamie (John) Kovach of Findlay, OH; a son Donald P. (Kelly) Restle of Canfield, OH; twelve grandchildren; Christopher, Anne and Paula (Holko), Jason and Kelly (Naples), Jonathan, Aimee and Dory (Schreiber), John, Eric and Holly (Kovach), Donnie and Dylan (Restle), and 18 great-grandchildren. Besides his wife and parents, Don was preceded in death by two brothers; Kenneth and Robert Restle. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Fox Funeral Home, Boardman.
