BOARDMAN- Dorothy (Dottie) M. Yankel, 85. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Philip Rogers at 11 A.M. Monday at St. Charles Church, for Dorothy M. Yankel, 85 of Boardman, who passed away Thursday afternoon, with her family by her side. Dorothy was born December 5, 1930 in Youngstown, a daughter of George and Helen Bernat Lucas. She was a majorette and 1949 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and had attended Youngstown College. Dorothy started her career as a secretary for Youngstown Sheet and Tube, and then worked in the kitchens of Cardinal Mooney High School and Meridian Arms. She was a member of St. Charles Church and loved cooking and baking her families favorite Slovak dishes especially kolachi. Dorothy had unconditional love for everyone she knew. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Richard J. Yankel, whom she married November 12, 1955, her children James J. (Tea) Yankel of Dayton, Victoria M. (Dave) Patrick of Boardman, Richard L. (Charlene) Yankel of Poland, Michael G. (Lori) Yankel of Macomb, Michigan and John P. Yankel of Petersburg, her brothers William Lucas of Girard, George Lucas of McKees Rock, Pa., and Paul Lucas of Clearwater, Florida., and her grandchildren Christine Yankel, Michael (Jessica) Yankel, Erica (Ryan)Everett, Ryan Patrick, Sarah Patrick, Jared Patrick, Melissa (Chad) Knapp, Michael Yatsco and Jackson Yankel. Friends may call from 3 to 6 Sunday at the Fox Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 on Monday at St. Charles Church.
