Elizabeth Jane Hamer, 89 Prayers will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Fox Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Philip Rogers at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Church for Elizabeth J. Hamer, 89 of Boardman who passed away Wednesday morning at Greenbriar Commons. Elizabeth was born May 4, 1924 in Youngstown a daughter of Martin and Cora Rochford Connelly and has been a lifelong area resident. She graduated from South High School, was a homemaker and worked retail at J.C. Penney's Department Stores. She was a long time member of St. Charles parish. Her husband Harry F. Hamer whom she married on July 7, 1946 passed away on January 20, 2004 after 57 years of marriage. She will be greatly missed by her two sons, Marty (Sue) Hamer of Galloway, OH, Bob (Janet) Hamer of Boardman; eight grandchildren, Robert (Sharon) Hamer, Laura (Tim ) Gardner, Kate (Mike) Rottmayer, Mark (Sally) Hamer, David Hamer, Keith Hamer, Craig (Reena) Hamer, Mathew (Lisa) Hamer; and fourteen great grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her four brothers Marty, Jimmy, Tommy and Billy Connelly and her sister Mary Nelson. Elizabeth's family would like to thank the staff of the Commons at Greenbriar for the love and compassion they extended to their mother.
