Elizabeth Ann "Bette" Irwin, 86 WESTERVILLE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Terrence Hazel at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, at Saint Michael Church for Elizabeth Ann Irwin, 86, formerly of Canfield. She was born in Youngstown on Sept. 16, 1922, to parents Thomas A. Jones and Elizabeth J. Kohler, and died Saturday, April 25, at her son Michael's home in Westerville. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, John Robert Irwin of Canfield, a veteran of WWII; and her brother, Thomas Jones, a member of the Curbstone Coaches and the Ohio Golf Hall of Fame. She leaves her five children, Susan E. White of Santa Barbara, Calif., John Robert and Michael of Westerville, Betty Lynn Bobel (Don) of Dublin and Nancy Irwin-Kuhns (Ron) of Sunbury; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Tatum Danhauer (Laura) of Santa Barbara, Joshua R. Irwin of Bonita Springs, Fla., Kathleen E. Henry (Justin) of Pataskala and John R. Irwin IV of Westerville; three great-grandchildren, Reese and Lane Danhauer and Tyler Lynn Henry; two sisters, Rosemary Lyden and Dorothy Mae Ficocelli; and many dear nieces and nephews. Mrs. Irwin was the owner of Sherry's Style Salon in Youngstown, and was responsible for producing hundreds of style shows over a span of nearly 40 years. She studied at Darvas School of Art in Cleveland after graduating from Ursuline High School. She was an accomplished oil and water color artist. She and her husband were longtime members of Tippecanoe Country Club. Bette, as she was known to family and friends, enjoyed a good sense of humor, dancing, entertaining, playing golf, painting and quilting. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, wife, sister and friend. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Fox Funeral Home.
