Indian Trail North Carolina- Ellen Ann Brahney McQuade, 80. Prayers will be 9:30 Saturday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 At St. Christine Church, celebrated by Rev. John Keehner for Ellen Ann Brahney McQuade, 80 of Indian Trail, North Carolina, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away peacefully Sunday morning. Ellen was born July 16, 1936 in Youngstown, a daughter of Paul Eugene and Anna Frances Weber Brahney. She was a 1954 graduate of Ursuline High School. Ellen lived in the Youngstown are all of her life, until moving to North Carolina in 2013. She worked at Republic Steel for 20 years and retired from Youngstown State University as a executive assistant to the Dean of Engineering. While working at Youngstown State, Ellen enjoyed taking several classes on any and every subject. Ellen was a member of St. Christine Church, YSU Women Retirees, Seton III , Yo-Mah-O chapter of IAAP (International Association of Administrative Professionals), the cherished Lake Group and the beloved Club Girls (aka the Ya-Yas), since high school. More than anything, Ellen loved her family and friends. She loved to travel, her two favorite places were Colorado and Ireland. Ellen loved movies, playing cards, reading, entertaining and always enjoyed a great party. Her husband William Jacob McQuade whom she married May 12, 1956, passed away April 23, 1991. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters Jo-Ellen McQuade-Rentsch (Wayne) and Aileen McQuade (Scott Wilson) both of North Carolina, her sisters Kathleen Dragoman of Canfield and Nancy Varley (Tom) of Poland, ten nieces and nephews and 21 great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Ellen is preceded in death by a daughter Claranne McQuade, sons William P. McQuade and Mark A. McQuade and a brother James H. Brahney. Friends may call from 4 to 7 Friday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman.
