Elton E. Warner, 75 AUSTINTOWN - A memorial service with Military Honors will be held Saturday at noon by Pastor Russ Adams at the Fox Funeral Home for Elton E. Warner, 75, who passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 12, at the Briarfield at Ashley Circle. Elton was born April 14, 1939, in Ann Arbor, Mich., the son of Elroy and Anna Richards Warner, they resided in Linden, where he attended a one room country school, he went on to Linden High School, his family moved to Fenton, where he went on to finish his education at Fenton High School. He graduated in 1956. Elton was a volunteer fireman in Fenton. Elton enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard after graduation, where during Vietnam, he served aboard the Coast Guard Cutters USS Cook Bay and USS Lagarto. He earned the rank of MKI. He was a machine technician and he retired in 1985. Elton worked for General Motors in Grand Blank until 1970. He moved to Austintown and started working for Fisher Body in Lordstown as a welder equipment repairman. Elton was also on the Fire Brigade and a member of the American Legion. He also was a member of the Portland Maine Cuttermans Association . Elton leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 31 years, Suzanne Maroon Stockslager, whom he married May 23, 1983; his son, Melvin (Amy) Warner of St. Augustine, Fla.; daughter Nadene Warner of Gainesville Fla.; stepdaughter Tracie (Tom) Phillips of Youngstown; stepsons Glen of Campbell, Ron of Youngstown and John Stockslager of Las Vegas; five grandchildren, Harrison and Lawson Warner of St. Augustine, Howard Warner of Gainesville, and Joel and Hannah Stockslager of Campbell; and several nieces and nephews. Elton was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and one sister. The family request that memorial tributes be made in Elton's name to the American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad St., Canfield, OH 44406, or to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 1044 Belmont Ave., Youngstown, OH 44504.
