Esther Ruth (Rummel) Kaluza, 78 YOUNGSTOWN - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Paradise Church in Canfield, officiated by the Rev. David Parry for Esther Ruth (Rummel) Kaluza, 78, who passed away peacefully Friday morning, surrounded by her family. Esther was born Jan 21, 1938, in Canfield, a daughter of George and Ruth Messerly Rummel. She was a 1956 graduate of Canfield High School. After graduation, she was a book keeper for Workmens Overall Supply Co., and then went into the restaurant business as the owner of Sandwich World on Youngstown-Poland Road from 1983 to 1999. Esther worked for KFC and other local restaurants following the closure of Sandwich world. Recently she was a home health aide for Legacy Healthcare. She was a 4 H Advisor and was a member of the Paradise Church, where she also taught Sunday school. One of Esther's greatest joys in life was spending time with her family and taking care of her late son, Joseph's children. She also enjoyed dancing, spending time out doors and going out to eat with Jason, Tyler, Dezarae, Lindsey and Tiffany. Esther leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Anna (Aaron Jackson) Fitzgerald of North Lima; grandchildren Jason (Lindsey) Fitzgerald of North Lima, Tyler Fitzgerald of North Lima, Joshua Kaluza of Mineral Ridge and Tiffany Kaluza of Youngstown; a great-granddaughter, Dezarae; brother-in-law John (Donna) Kaluza of Youngstown; two close friends, Lexi Boerio and Faith Haynes; and her dog, Sidney. Besides her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her companion of 30 years, George Miller; and a son, Joseph (Lisa Constantino) Kaluza. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman and from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Paradise Church in Canfield. Material tributes can be made in Esther's memory to the Paradise Church, 10020 New Buffalo Road, Canfield, OH 44406. Arrangements are by the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman.
