Eugene F. Tarbet, 84 YOUNGSTOWN - Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, officiated by Rev Kevin Peters at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman for Eugene F. Tarbet, 84, who passed away peacefully Saturday evening. Eugene was born Jan. 29, 1931, in North Lima, a son of James F. and Sadie E. Sheridan Tarbet. He was a 1949 graduate of South High School and worked as a pipe inspector at the Youngstown Sheet & Tube Campbell Works. Eugene was a member of the United Steel Workers Union and served in the Air Force in Korea, and was awarded the National Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. His wife, the former Katherine Parker, whom he married March 15, 1958, passed away March 14, 1999. He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Michael (Barbara) Tarbet of Aurora and Patrick (Donna) Tarbet of Youngstown; a daughter, Kathy Dina of Austintown; a brother, Donald Tarbet of Lowellville; a sister, Sally John of McDonald; eight grandchildren, Christine Tarbet (Joseph Spahr), Nicole Tarbet, Patrick Tarbet, Jennifer Tarbet, David Tarbet, Joseph Dina, Johnathan Dina and Michael Dina; and two great-grandchildren, Quintin Tarbet and Adam Tarbet. Besides his wife, Eugene was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Jerry Tarbet. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman.
