Obituary

YOUNGSTOWN-FRANCIS A. GALLAGHER JR.,86 A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at St. Rose Church in Girard, for Francis A. Gallagher Jr., who passed Saturday afternoon at Hospice House surrounded by his family. Frank was born May 12, 1930 in Youngstown, a son of Francis A. and Laura Dumas Gallagher Sr. and was a lifelong area resident. He attended South High School and worked as an electrician. He was a veteran serving his country in the army and as a marine. He was a proud member for sixty years of the IBEW and a member of the Petri Club. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, boating, fishing and wine making. He will be greatly missed by his wife the former Grace Helen Flannery whom he married on September 12, 1953, celebrating 63 years of marriage. He leaves to cherish his memory a son Timothy (Selena) Gallagher of Warren; five daughters, Colleen (John) Wilson of Boardman, Marlene Kostelic also of Boardman, Suzanne Pochiro of Austintown, Dianne (Kevin) Dailey of Poland, Elaine Gallagher (Jim Clark) of Boardman; 9 grandchildren, Frank and Kelly Gallagher, Joseph and James Wilson, Michele Obenauf, Michael Pochiro, Kristy and Kaitlynn Dailey and Kevin Kostelic who resided with his grandfather for his later years of life and 6 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Francis was preceded in death by his three brothers, Richard, Joseph and Anthony Gallagher and a son-in-law Robert Kostelic. In lieu of flowers the family requests monetary donations to be made in Frank's name to Golden Strings Inc. Phelps St. Youngstown, OH. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Tuesday at St. Rose Church prior to the mass.
