Frank "Buzzy" P. Loftus, 90 NORTH LIMA - A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Philip Rogers at St. Charles Church for Frank "Buzzy" P. Loftus, 90, who passed away peacefully Saturday morning at Assumption Village Nursing Home. Frank was born Nov. 25, 1925, in Youngstown, a son of Francis P. and Mae Murphy Loftus. He was a lifelong area resident. Frank was a graduate from Chaney High School in 1943 and then served in the U.S. Army as a Specialist Third class. Frank worked for U.S. Steel as a Scheduling Clerk. He was a long time member of the Bears Club, a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Joseph Gallagher No. 3144. Frank was an avid golfer and a member of Sebring Country Club, where he managed the Club House. After retirement, Frank and his wife spent their winters in Sarasota, Fla. and lived in Austintown. Frank married Blanche E. Grady on Oct. 13, 1956, and she passed away June 28, 2009. He will be greatly missed by his sister-in-law, Helen Golden of Youngstown; 12 nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his Sister and brother-in-law, Mary Helen and Stephen Furman; brothers-in-law Thomas J. Golden and Albert Koontz; and sister-in-law Dolores Koontz. The family requests that any monetary donations be made in Frank's memory to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512. Frank's family would also like to thank the Assumption Village Nursing Home and staff for taking such wonderful care of him over the past six years.
