Frank C. Pezzano Sr., passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon September 6th at home. He was born September 24, 1929 in Lisbon, Ohio, a son of James and Elizabeth Barber Pezzano. He was a 1949 graduate of David Anderson high school where he played football, basketball, and baseball setting many school records. After graduation, Frank attended Missouri Valley College, before being drafted into the Army where he was stationed at Fort Monroe, Va. and served as an honor guard for Gen. Mark Clark. Upon being honorably discharged in 1953, Frank attended cosmetology school. After graduating, he traveled to many cities as a L’Oréal platform artist where he became very well recognized, worked on many famous people, and won many prestigious awards. In 1964 he started Frank Charles Hairdressers and Interior Design which operated until his retirement in 2024. Frank enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his yard, and taking family vacations.
His wife, the former Judy E. Blick whom he married Aug 31, 1968, passed away Aug. 12, 2024. He leaves to cherish his memory, his son Frank (Christina) Pezzano, Jr, daughter Lisa Rygiel (fiancée Todd Higgins), sister Anne Brooks and grandchildren Samuel Pezzano, Madilyn Pezzano, Violet Rygiel and Ridge Rygiel. Frank is preceded in death by brothers Bruno, James, Anthony, and Joesph and sisters Mary Crivaro and Josephine Lutsch.
A mass of Christian burial will be 10am Friday, Sept 11, 2026 at St Patrick Church in Youngstown. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Calvary cemetery with military honors.
The Pezzano family respectfully suggests material tributes be made in Frank's name to Angels for Animals, 4750 State Route 165, Canfield, Ohio 44406.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. Boardman.
