Gary M. "Bear" Hardie, 60 BOARDMAN - Prayers will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by the Rev. Edward Noga at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Church, Youngstown for Gary M. "Bear" Hardie, 60, who passed away Sunday afternoon. Gary was born June 17, 1951, in Youngstown, a son of William and Evelyn Perry Hardie. He played fullback for Cardinal Mooney High School, where he graduated in 1970. Gary worked at General Electric, P & L.E. railroad and was a general handyman. He loved Mooney football, golfing, bowling and boating at Lake Milton. Gary leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Jennifer (George) Farris of Boardman; a son, Jeffrey Hardie of Youngstown; three sisters, Jean (Butch) Irwin of Struthers, Sarah Hardie of Boardman and Debbie (Frank) Damiano of Boardman; three brothers, William Hardie of Boardman, Robert Hardie and James (Denise) Hardie of Poland; and his girlfriend, Bev "Cupcake" Wright. Besides his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis and two sisters, Nancy Hardie and Janet McLaughlin. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman. Gary's family wishes to thank the staff at Hospice of the Valley and St. Elizabeth Health Center for their loving care and compassion.
