Harold L. Ritz, 84 BOARDMAN - Funeral services will be held for Harold L. Ritz, 84 at 6 p.m. on Tuesday July 5, 2011 at Fox Funeral Home in Boardman, celebrated by Deacon Paul Lisko. Harold passed away Friday morning at Assumption Village in North Lima. Mr. Ritz was born June 6, 1927, in Newark, N.J., the only child of John and Grace Hann Ritz and has been an area resident since childhood. He was a Boardman High School graduate with the class of 1944. He was a veteran with the United States Army Aircorp where he was a radio mechanic. Harold was an avid Ham radio operator whose call sign was KD8AC. He worked as an industrial engineer for Copperweld Steel retiring in 1991. His wife the former Eleanor J. Shuster whom he married January 15, 1947, died on August 28, 2010. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Patricia (Charles) Mound of Boardman; four sons, Alan (Joan) Ritz of Athens, TX, David Ritz of Sarasota, FL, Brian (Susan) Ritz of Akron, OH, Dale (Michaelene) Ritz of Boardman; five grandchildren, Megan Ritz, Nathaniel Ritz, Joshua Mound, Stephanie Ritz, and Anne Ritz. Harold's family wishes to thank the administration and staff at Assumption Village for their loving and compassionate care.
