Harry E. Joyce Jr., 83. Prayers will be 9:00 A.M. Saturday at the Fox Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Joseph Fata at 9:30 A.M. at St. Luke Church for Harry E. Joyce, 83 who passed away peacefully Monday morning at Austinwoods Nursing Home. Harry was born Februay 27, 1930, a son of Harry E. and Elizabeth Moore Joyce Sr. and was a lifelong area resident. Harry graduated from South High School with the Class of 1948 and went to Youngstown College. Harry was a veteran serving his country in the United States Air Force. He became a teacher at Cardinal Mooney High School from its beginnings and spent his career there teaching thousands of students until his retirement. Harry was a member of St. Luke Parish, its Holy Name Society, St. Luke's Men's Club, Altar Rosary Society and the Knights of Columbus. His wife the former Dorothy "Dotty" Lucas, whom he married June 17, 1961, passed away August 12, 2011. He leaves to cherish his memory several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Harry was preceded in death by a brother James Joyce and a sister Mary Beth Dillon. . Friends may call from 4 to7 p.m. Friday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman.
