Irene A. Sullivan, 81 BOARDMAN - Prayers will be at 10:30 a.m. today, April 2, at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Msgr. David W. Rhodes at 11 a.m. at St. Christine Church, Youngstown, for Irene A. Sullivan, 81, who passed away suddenly Wednesday afternoon. Irene was born Oct. 2, 1929, in New Castle, Pa., a daughter of John and Bertha Mrozek Kmiotek. She was a 1947 graduate of New Castle High School. Irene was a volunteer at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown for 33 years and also at the Boardman Campus. She was a member of St. Christine Church, the Tuesday night MVR Dinner Group and the R.S.V.P. Irene loved playing the organ, baking, cooking and making personalized blankets. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed making everyone's birthday special. Her husband, John (Jack) Sullivan, whom she married Sept. 10, 1950, passed away June 28, 2008. She leaves to cherish her memory, four sons, Tom (Judi) Sullivan of Poland, John (Kim) Sullivan of Petersburg, Jim (Joann) Sullivan of Hubbard and Ron Sullivan of Boardman; a daughter, Maureen (Chuck) Pusch of Austintown; a sister, Dolly Dominick of New Castle, Pa.; and seven grandchildren, Tim Sullivan, Michael Sullivan, Shannon Pusch, Ron Sullivan, Ryan Sullivan, Hailey Sullivan and Logan Sullivan. Irene also leaves several nieces and nephews and her many dear friends. Besides her husband, Irene was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shelby Pusch.
