Irvin H. "Skup" Jacobs, 89 BOARDMAN - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Church, celebrated by the Rev. Gerald DeLucia for Irvin H. "Skup" Jacobs, 89 who passed away Wednesday afternoon at his residence. Irvin was born September 6, 1925, in Youngstown, a son of Sam and Mae Boley Jacobs and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from The Rayen School and attended Ohio State University. Irvin is a veteran who served his country with the United States Navy. He worked in logistics for various trucking companies mostly in the Steel Industry. He has been a member of St. Charles parish for 64 years, past member of the Gaelic Club and member and past officer of the Youngstown Traffic Club. Irvin was an avid golfer and was a great fan of Mooney and Ohio State Football. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 64 years, Ann Theresa Mullen Jacobs who he married on February 3, 1951; his two sons, Michael Jacobs of Columbus, Joe "Jake" (Tammy) Jacobs of Youngstown; his three daughters, Anne Varga of Columbus, Mary Pat (Rick) Stine of Cincinnati, Betsy (John) DeNiro of Columbus; thirteen grandchildren, Katie (Justin Rollyson), Colleen & Maggie Varga, Sam & Pete Jacobs, Liz, Catherine,& Rachel Stine, Michael & Max Jacobs, Danny, Tess & Kelly DeNiro; two great-grandchildren Callie and Mason Rollyson. He is also survived by sisters -in-law, Rita Fagan, and Buzzy Mullen; cousins Tom and Mary Rita Carney as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles prior to the Mass. The family would like to thank the staff of MVI Hospice, especially Angela, Melissa and Gail for the loving care that was extended to Irvin. In lieu of flowers any monetary donations can be made to MVI Hospice, 4891 Belmont Ave, Youngstown, OH 44505.
