JACK F. MORAN, 85 BOARDMAN - There will be prayers at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Fox Funeral Home and a Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic Church for Jack F. Moran, 85 who passed away Thursday afternoon at his residence. Jack was born February 4, 1931 in Youngstown, a son of Aloysios & Florence Buchman Moran and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School with the Class of 1949 and worked for East Ohio Gas Company for 37 years retiring in 1990. He was a long time parishioner at St. Dominic parish, a member of Baseball Old Timers, Saxon Club, Angels for Animals, Trumbull County Animal Welfare and Second Chance Animal league. Jack was inducted into the Woodrow Wilson High School Sports Hall of Fame in 1985 for his golf achievements. He played and managed in the Class AA Baseball League from 1949 to 1957 and played for Youngstown Baseball Old Timers League from age 50 until he turned 60. He played in the City Golf League for 34 years and had a #1 handicap in 1973 and Jack was an avid Notre Dame Football Fan. His wife June D. "Radu" Moran whom he married November 6, 1964 died on March 13, 2000 after celebrating 36 years of marriage. He leaves his caregivers, his niece and nephew Donna (Joe) Midlick and Joe Pecciho and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Besides his parents and his wife June, Jack was preceded in death by his two brothers Donald and Robert Moran; his sister, Marilou Bolander and his niece Karen Moran. In lieu of flowers any monetary donations should be made to any Charity for Animals or to Senior Independence Hospice, 6715 Tippecanoe Rd. Canfield, OH 44406.
