James M. Handel, 74 CANFIELD - There will be a funeral service at 11a.m. Thursday at Fox Funeral Home celebrated by Fr. John Keehner for James M. Handel, 74, who passed away Monday morning at Hospice House. Jim was born November 29, 1940 in Youngstown, a son of George and Helen Hesch Handel and was a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate from North High School and served his country for 4 years in the United States Navy. He worked for General Motors for 30 years in the assembly plant and as a security officer until retiring in 2000. He was a member of St. Christine's parish, the Saxon Club and St. George Lodge #66 Croation Home. He leaves behind to cherish his memory a son Martin Handel of Ormond Beach, FL; a grandson Lee Handel also of Ormond, FL; a sister, Jean (Bob) Kollar of Canfield; his longtime companion, Barbara Hosa of Canfield and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother George R. Handel. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman.
