Jane Mary Reardon passed away at home on February 18 surrounded by her loving family and friends. Jane was born in Long Island City, New York, on July 11, 1925, to Anna K. Sauerwein and John J. Hickey. She attended Jamaica High School and Hunter College. While living in New York, she was employed in the banking industry. During World War II, Youngstown-native Enos W. "Peanuts" Reardon was on leave from the army in New York City when he met Jane Hickey. Enos and Jane were married on July, 21, 1945, in Jamaica, Long Island, New York. In 1946, they moved to Youngstown. They were married for 56 years until Enos passed away in March, 2002. After raising her children, Jane returned to school and graduated from Choffin School of Nursing. She was employed as a LPN at North side Hospital , retiring in 1990. Jane's home was a gathering place for family and friends. Sitting around Grandma Jane's table provided nourishment for the soul along with a welcoming meal. Jane leaves to cherish her memory three daughters; Maureen Reardon of Canfield, with whom she made her home, Denise Caizzo of Norwalk, and Eileen (Robert) O'Brien of Boardman; four grandchildren; Jay (Pam) Caizzo of Norwalk, Kerry (Doug) Brown of Richfield, Erin (Randall) Cook of Strongsville and Meghan O'Brien of Strongsville; seven great-grandchildren; Camden, Ava, Caspar and Vincent Caizzo, Ryan and Joseph Brown, and Randall Cook III; and three sisters-in-law; Norma (Louis) Italiano, who was an honor attendant at her wedding, Rosemary Reardon, who was also a dear friend, and Barbara Reardon, who likewise was a beloved friend who visited with her daily. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10a.m.Wednesday, February 24, at St. Dominic's Church. Friends may call at the Church one-half hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Mahoning Valley rescue Mission, Animal Charity of Youngstown or the Mahoning County Dog Pound.
