Jean R. Lawlor, 77 BOARDMAN - Jean R. Lawlor, 77, passed from this life at 11:55 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at the Hospice House, with her family by her side. She was born May 24, 1937, in Boardman, a daughter of the late Emery Leslie Lawlor and Mary Francis Deibel Lawlor. Jean graduated from The Youngstown Hospital Association School of Nursing in 1958. She was a registered nurse for 47 years. During most of her career she was the head nurse and nursing supervisor of South Side Hospital in Youngstown. Jean moved to Palm Beach, Fla. in 1987, and worked at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center in the Cardiac Care Unit. It was from there that she retired. As an RN, Jean was a member of the ANA, ONA and District Three YGDNA. After Jean retired, she moved back to Boardman to be with her nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. She had a great passion for life, especially birds. Her favorite was her buddy, Teko, which was an African Gray. Jean loved sports and played girls softball as a youth. She was a member of the Boardman Boosters Club Girls softball team that won the North-East Ohio championship in August of 1952. Jean had great faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Trinity Fellowship Church on South Avenue in Boardman. Jean was preceded in death by her beloved sister and best friend, Therese Medicus. Jean is survived by her nephew, Donald Medicus (Patsy); nieces Terry Clark (Mike), Christine Granchie, Jeannine Cerimele (Lou) and Diane Pupino; 13 great-nieces and great-nephews; and eight great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She is also survived by her brother, Joe Lawlor from Pennsylvania. A private prayer service will be held at the Trinity Fellowship Church. The family requests that memorial donations be directed to the Hospice House, where she was cared for with grace and dignity.
