Johanna Russell Miller, 75 BOARDMAN--Mrs. Johanna Russell Miller, 75, died on Monday, May 4, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Boardman. She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Florence of Naples, Florida, and Ann Marie (Andrew) Velchek of New Waterford; her two grandchildren Miranda and Connor Velchek of New Waterford; her sisters Moira Flynn and Bridie Connors of Roscrea, Ireland and many nieces and nephews. Johanna was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents, James and Mary Ann O'Connor Russell; her sisters, Margaret Pedersen, Kitty Mulvihill and Elizabeth Landy and three brothers, James, Paddy and John Russell. Johanna was born November 30, 1933 in Roscrea, County Tipperary, Ireland. She attended the Corville National School in Tipperary. She came to Youngstown in 1956 to visit her uncle, Pat O'Connor, and took a job working at The St. Christine Parish rectory. She later was employed at the Cross Rexall Drug Store where she met her husband Bill. While raising her family, Johanna enjoyed spending time at their summer home in Bobcaygeon, Ontario. Many fond memories were formed by all of the family and friends that she entertained there. She also loved taking her yearly trips to Florida, shelling on the beach, and spending time with friends and family. She was an avid golf fan, enjoyed listening to music, and playing games with her family. She especially loved her two grandchildren, who referred to her as Mimi, as they were the light of her life. Her contributions reflected her sterling character, an ever-positive approach, and an unquenchable enthusiasm for life. To her friends and family, she was a model wife, mother, grandmother, friend and community volunteer. Visitation with the family will be 5p.m. to 8p.m. Thursday, at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 12 p.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave. Youngstown, OH 44507, officiated by Fr.
